The Emmys are a big night in both television and fashion.
The drama jumped from the small screen onto the red carpet outside of Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater for the awards ceremony's 75th celebration. While red looks dominated last week's Golden Globes, black and burgundy styles proved popular at Monday's Emmys, pushed from September amid the entertainment industry strikes. Stars including Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Williams, Riley Keough and her grandmother Priscilla Presley all dressed in the midnight hue.
But others, and you'll see below, also embraced various shades of wines. Of TV's elite, who wears "The Crown?" Several have "Ted Lasso"-ed a spot on our best-dressed list.
Here are our picks, in no particular "Succession."
Predictions for75th Primetime Emmy Awards winners: Our picks for who will (and should) win
Ayo Edebiri
There's no need to grin and "Bear" it when taking in Ayo Edebiri's strapless frock featuring a fitted bodice and uniquely protruding pleats. The actress shared on E!'s pre-show that the custom Louis Vuitton gown was 3D-molded and shaped to her form.
"We're snatched and we're loving it," she told E! host Laverne Cox.
Suki Waterhouse
Suki Waterhouse went baby bump out in a Valentino ballgown in the fashion house's signature color. The backless design, accented with a big bow, is a clever solution when dressing a mom-to-be.
The actress/singer and Robert Pattinson are expecting their first child.
Selena Gomez
She might not be "Single Soon," since she's having such a wonderful time with music producer Benny Blanco, but the singer/actress showed out in an Oscar de la Renta gown adorned with burgundy sequined palms/palm leaves.
The "Only Murders in the Building" pulled the look together with a burgundy bold lip to match and strappy velvet heels.
Jenna Ortega
The "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega sidestepped her character's favorite color (black) and selected a flesh-colored Dior dress. The transparent look was covered in pastel floral applique twisted around a beaded lattice pattern.
Jessica Chastain
In a sea of muted black and burgundy fashions, Jessica Chastain stood out.
The actress electrified the carpet in a lime gown that perfectly complemented her fiery locks. The Gucci design shimmered thanks to its sequins and cascading metallic fringe.
Issa Rae
Sigh, this Barbie is glam-or-ous! Issa Rae dazzled in a high-neck, long sleeve gown by Pamella Roland that did not go easy on the embellishments. Feathers, sequins, pearls! The gang's all here.
"I feel like I wanted to give a little drama," Rae told E! of her look.
Taraji P. Henson
Likely taking a cue from her latest project, "The Color Purple," Taraji P. Henson donned a beautifully draped plum Atelier Versace gown. The fitted look was complete with a high slit and train.
Tyler James Williams
Tyler James Williams strayed from the traditional tuxedo and opted for an edgier ensemble.
The "Abbott Elementary" star rocked a leather look by Dolce & Gabbana, which he wore sans dress shirt. He accessorized with a diamond necklace.
Rachel Brosnahan
Let's give a standing ovation to "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
Rachel Brosnahan had our jaws on the floor as she donned a Bordeaux-colored corset dress with A-line skirt and high slit. They say comedy is hard, but looking this good is even harder. Bravo, Versace!
Niecy Nash-Betts
It's a smash for Niecy Nash.
The "Dahmer" star looked every bit a starlet in a plunging gown reminiscent of the Golden Age of Old Hollywood. The curve-hugging custom Greta Constantine design — made even more dramatic thanks to gloves — highlighted the comedian/actress' hourglass figure.
Ellen Pompeo
Ellen Pompeo let a smidge of her "Grey's Anatomy" show in a dress with a bedazzled sheer top. A black, slinky satin skirt balanced out the glitzy look.
Meghann Fahy
Cue "The White Lotus" theme song, it's Daphne. The jury is still out on whether Daphne voted (though you totally should) but there's no question that Meghann Fahy gets ours for one of the best-dressed at the Emmys.
The actress kept it simple and sleek in a timeless column gown by Armani, accented with roses at the neckline.
